Song: Stranded Trans-Atlantic Hotel Nearly Famous Blues
Year: 1990

Versions:
Stranded Trans-Atlantic Hotel Nearly Famous Blues [Studio]

"That was written on the last Love and Rockets tour, in a hotel room somewhere in America. I can't even remember where, which is part of the syndrome. I wasn't (happy) at the time."

"I'm very ambivalent about the whole business of commercial success.
I don't want to carp and moan about it because it has got its plus side. But there`s also a down side.
For me, the main thing (about touring) was missing my family. When you're on tour, and you've got another two months to go, it just seems like an eternity, and you just feel so cut off. You want to talk to somebody who doesn't know you because of the group. I suppose I wasn't really being rational about it, but then you're not when you're in that situation. Writing the song helped get it into perspective. The thing is, I wouldn't choose to do anything else. I do love it. I love the heart of it all, which is making music. It's just the trappings I'm wary of."
