Hank Williams To The Angel Of Death [Promo video]

"After working with Marcelo Radulovich on the opening ?Wounded Healer Theme? for my play, ?Silver For Gold? ( The Odyssey of Edie Sedgwick ), we had some music left over which Marcelo continued to work on. One day he sent me an email requesting that I drop by his studio to give it a listen and possibly add some tracks. I turned up with Joseph, my son who brought along his Moroccan ?ghaita?, a double reed oboe-like instrument which he feeds through a mess of FX pedals. After I had slapped down a bass line, Joseph laid down a track of ghaita which worked very well, lending an otherworldly atmosphere to the piece. Marcelo had suggested that I record a vocal, so whilst Joe was doing his bit I started to poke around the funky little studio in search of inspiration for lyrics. I found it in the form of a copy of the Complete Works of Hank Williams ( Marcelo, like myself, is a big fan ) I decided to pick out lines at random whilst flicking through the pages. Within a few minutes I had a narrative lyric which suggested a delirious dying Hank Williams addressing the Angel of Death. We recorded this immediately without having time to think about it. Within two hours of our arrival we had the finished mix. We think that it has some real magic. The track is now streaming on this site."
