"'Time' by David J's Cabaret Oscuro I had been counting the days! I purchased the 'Aladdin Sane' album the day it came out in April of 1973 and dashed to the bus stop with my destination set, namely home and the gramophone. Nothing else mattered. When the stylus made it around to track six, I was floored by the twisted vaudeville of 'Time'. This was a form that Bowie had initially appropriated on the much loved 'Hunky Dory' but now revisited, amped up and super charged, propelled by the rock n' roll adrenaline surge of Ziggy Stardust. This was full tilt grandiose cabaret. Brecht and Weill meet Brel in the post apocalypse. The stage as metaphor for life and death. I was never the same again.
