"In 2002 I was asked to write three songs for the movie, 'Honey Baby' which was based on the myth of Orpheus and the Underworld. The film's protagonist was a drifter/musician who gets involved with a Russian drug dealer/club owner on his way to rescuing The Girl ( Eurydice ). All three songs were written in one night. The director, Aki Kaurismaki finally decided that, in the interest of authenticity, he wanted the actor, Henry Thomas, to write the songs which he would be singing. I never saw the finished film. Scene setting song. The over all picture." David J
